Course curriculum

Week 1: Understanding the Relationship Between Thoughts, Emotions and Behaviour

  • Develop foundational knowledge of the Cognitive Model of the Mind by exploring the insights of great thinkers — from ancient philosophers to contemporary psychologists and researchers
  • Develop your emotional vocabulary to cultivate emotional maturity and a more nuanced self-concept
  • Complete two interactive exercises to reflect on your own personal experience through the lens of the Cognitive Model, and expand your emotional vocabulary

Week 2: Developing Greater Self-Awareness

  • Learn to identify the source or "Activating Events" that drive your negative emotions, and then learn how to apply the Cognitive Model to identify your core negative beliefs
  • Complete an advanced reflection to enhance your self-awareness and illuminate your thought processes in preparation for the practices in week three

Week 3: Reframing Stress and Changing Negative Beliefs

  • Explore the concept of Thought Traps, and learn the 10 most common distortions that create unnecessary emotional turmoil
  • Learn how to restructure negative beliefs and translate negative energy into productive energy that you can use to pursue your goals
  • Complete an interactive exercise to solidify your new skills and begin to make tangible progress with your personal situation

Week 4 and Beyond: Sustaining Positive Change

  • Get tactical advice on how to develop a sustainable habit around the practices taught in this course so that you can continue to optimize your mindset and prevent set-backs
  • Learn how to use the Open Dialogue app to integrate healthy mental habits into your daily life
  • Work, play and live your life with greater presence and clarity
